The Prosecco hills are a UNESCO heritage site
A verdict awaited for years, on a warm Sunday in July, which crowns as the 55th Italian site registered in the list of Unesco the splendid lands of Prosecco with over 140 years of history and 97 square kilometers of vineyard slopes and rural villages.
During the 43rd session of UNESCO ongoing in Baku, Azerbaijan, the World Heritage Committee, composed of the representatives of 21 states with the task of evaluating the candidates, have decreed that the Veneto hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene are world heritage of the humanity with full marks and unanimous deliberation.
The first italian road dedicated to wine was born in this area in the 60s. Thanks to the climate and to the coral reef emerged 250 million years ago this land has the perfect conditions to create one of the products that most characterizes the excellence of our made in Italy.
The entire peninsula toasts the recognition of the unique value of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, a decision that celebrates the universal value of a cultural and agricultural landscape, the result of an extraordinary and wise interaction between a production of excellence and the nature of a fascinating territory.
